Police figures showing an overall drop in the total number of notifiable offences has dropped by 3.7%. A report on examination of crime statistics and data due to go to tonight’s Hounslow’s Safer Neighbour Forum record that compared to 2012/13, the data showing for 2013/14 reveal:
- 21.4% drop in Robberies
- 25.9% fall in Burglaries
- 15.2% drop in theft from Motor Vehicle Offences
- 19.5% fall of thefts from person offences
Other figures showed that public confidence in Hounslow Police is above average and one of the highest in London with over 73% saying they thought the Police were doing an “excellent” or “good” job, with “overall satisfaction” remaining above the MPS average at 81%.
Hounslow Conservative Leader Cllr Peter Thompson welcomed the news saying, “It is great news that overall crime in Hounslow is down including robbery and theft. There still is important work to do in other areas such as with Domestic Abuse and Racist and Religious Hate Crime. Our message is and always remains: zero tolerance on crime. No excuses.”
