After Mary reached out the local business leaders earlier this month to support a struggling homework club, she received great news that the Rugby Football Union would like to donate £1000 towards the running costs!
Commenting, Mary said:
“I am delighted to announce that the RFU has so generously donated £1000 to the homework club on the Ivybridge Estate in Isleworth! It had been struggling financially for some time and needed support to fund their youth worker along with day to day resources such as notebooks, pens and refreshments. “
The club, based in the Bridgelink Centre on the Ivybridge Estate in Isleworth, is a superb resource for children who need help with their numeracy and literacy and Mary and her team were delighted to hear that her call for support has had such a generous response from the RFU.
Mary continued:
“I would like to thank the RFU for their kind donation and am pleased to see that they, as a local business, are dedicated to helping the next generation who live locally. This funding will give local children and their families a better chance in life and will make a real difference to their education”.
