Local MP Mary Macleod is hosting her third “Entrepreneurial Women – Taking the Start-Up Challenge” this Friday 18th October in Brentford.
Following on from two previous oversubscribed events in Hounslow and Chiswick, Mary hopes that her event will foster a ‘new generation of women entrepreneurs’ and praised the dynamism and potential of women in the Hounslow Borough.
Mary said:
“I am delighted to be able to offer a third session helping budding entrepreneurs in my local area. From my previous events and following meetings in and around my constituency, I know that there is an appetite for enterprise in Brentford and I want to do all I can to nurture that desire. We have some fantastic speakers lined up for Friday and I hope to see lots of local women taking the Start-Up Challenge!”
The October session will be held at EMC Tower in Brentford and will be hearing from two successful local female entrepreneurs who have built up their business from home and will share the journey they have taken so far and some of the lessons they’ve learned along the way. They will be joined by representative from Start-up Britain, the local Chamber of Commerce, and a local bank. The event is also supported by the Princes Trust, the Athena Network, and Club Workspace.
Mary added:
“Women are still behind men in setting up their own businesses and if they did so at the same rate as they do in the United States, we would have 600,000 more businesses and an extra £42 billion flowing into the economy. This is something we cannot underestimate – enterprising women are the key to growth in Britain and I will do all I can to help them.”
