Chiswick Town Centre Manager Rachel Victor-Sampson recently attended the Chiswick Area Forum to provide an update on all things Chiswick and ideas for the future.
During her presentation given to local Chiswick Councillors Rachel explained her aim was to support retailers and local business groups. Currently, she is looking at underused spaces in Chiswick including the Town Hall, and hoping for co-working schemes to develop like the one currently being considered with University of West London. There is also the issue of thirty minutes free parking being marketed better and more which will come into effect by the end of August as well as supporting a monthly Chiswick market between Devonshire Road and Linden Gardens.
A town centre board is also on the cards which is hoped to take place on a bi-monthly basis and will include what is happening not just in Chiswick but other town centres. Commenting on the update, Councillor Gerald McGregor who is Vice Chair of the Chiswick Area Forum said,
“Exciting things are in the pipeline for Chiswick and I certainly support introducing 30 minutes free parking in our Town Centre which is long overdue and was first brought forward by our former MP Mary Macleod. Chiswick, as we know, has enormous potential and any ideas we have from the public and neighbouring boroughs of further boosting what Chiswick has to offer can only be a good thing. Like always, your local Councillors will be involved at every stage to ensure we remain the envy of West London!”
