Local MP Mary Macleod has called on all Chiswick residents to respond to Transport for London’s (TfL’s) online survey on Piccadilly line trains stopping at Turnham Green station throughout the day.
This is the last chance to fill out the survey, with only one week to go until the consultation closes on Monday 7th October.
Mary said:
‘This is the last chance for Chiswick residents to make their voices heard on something they have wanted for decades. Well over 12,000 people have already replied to the consultation but we must ensure that Chiswick is well represented in the responses, so please encourage your friends, family and neighbours to complete the online survey. It is also crucial that as many people as possible answer “yes” to both questions 7 and 8 on the survey. I am positive that we can find a way to stop Piccadilly line trains at Turnham Green without disrupting the rest of the line.’
Mary’s petition will close on Wednesday 2nd October and she stressed the importance of gathering as many signatures as possible before she hand delivers the petition to Mayor Boris Johnson at City Hall.
Mary added:
‘I strongly encourage all who have not already done so to sign the petition so that we can let TfL and the Mayor of London know how we feel about Piccadilly line trains stopping at Turnham Green. Please also encourage your friends and family in other parts of London to sign up too.Stopping the Piccadilly line at Turnham Green station throughout the day will improve lives for local residents. Chiswick people realise this and I am pleased that so many have decided to support our campaign. I absolutely believe that this change is achievable and will both improve the lives of local people and invigorate businesses’.
