Mary Macleod MP has praised an initiative run by Chiswick based group ‘The Bridge’. The innovative scheme aims to help young people gain the skills needed to find a job in the hospitality sector.
At a special presentation of their work last week Mary commented, “The Bridge is a fantastic initiative that gives practical training to young people wanting to work in the hospitality sector. I really enjoyed hearing about what they have been working on and how the scheme has equipped them with the experiences and skills to find work in this sector.”
Students taking part in the 6 week project were asked to organise and run an event for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Mary commented, “I was impressed by how these young people had gone about this project in such a professional and enthusiastic manner. It can be difficult for young people to find work when they lack experience on their CV so this is a great way to give them the edge that will help them find a job.”
