Local MP Mary Macleod has praised the Government’s announcement unveiled in Chiswick this week that an extra £250 million of funding will be put into the British Business Bank to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs).
The British Business Bank set up by the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills last year is expected to generate more than £500 million in new lending and investment for the UK's small businesses each year.
Mary said:
‘I was delighted to hear of the announcement in Chiswick this week that the Government will be increasing the amount of funding to Britain’s small businesses. This really highlights the Government’s dedication to small businesses in this country. 99% of all UK businesses are SMEs, so it is crucial we do all we can to help them thrive.’
