Local MP Mary Macleod has congratulated Hounslow Council on adopting a 30 minute free parking policy across the whole Borough and has urged them to implement the policy by this time next month.
Mary has been leading a campaign on free parking in recent months, most recently on behalf of local traders who unanimously supported the proposal at a recent meeting in Chiswick.
Mary said:
“I am extremely pleased that Hounslow Council have listened to the concerns of local people and businesses by implementing a 30-minute free parking policy across the Borough. This is something I have campaigned on for a long time and I know that shops, traders and residents will be grateful to the Council for listening to the concerns I have been raising on their behalf.
With just a month until Small Business Saturday, Mary hopes that the Council can now act quickly enough to implement the policy in time to benefit local traders and businesses.
She added:
“As well as Hounslow Council, I would like to thank everyone who has helped champion this campaign, including local residents, Chiswick Councillors and businesses. I look forward to hearing more details from the Council on when we can expect the scheme to be introduced. It would be fantastic if this could be in place in time for Small Business Saturday on December 7th”.
