Local MP Mary Macleod has asked for a meeting with Hounslow Council to discuss the issues surrounding the closure of Chiswick Day Centre. Last week local campaigners decided to abandon court action against the decision after taking legal advice.
Mary commented, “Chiswick Day Centre was a vital part of the local community and I am saddened that the Council decided to close it. The priority now is to make sure that those who used the service are made aware of the alternatives available to them so that they are not left stranded in the new year. I am glad that the centre will now remain open until the 23rd December as Christmas fast approaches we need to look ahead.
“I have asked to meet with the Council to discuss what measures they are taking so that the needs of local residents who used the centre will be addressed. I have followed the progress of this campaign closely and I am determined that those who are losing this service are protected.”
